Raymond of Ngāti Kahungunu Ki Rongomaiwahine and Ngāti Porou descent is an Award-Winning Executive Creative Director and has worked at the highest level of advertising for close to 15 years, alongside some of the world’s most awarded creative directors. His work has been recognised locally and internationally.

After graduating from AUT University with a Communications Degree, Raymond was hired to work as a creative at Colenso BBDO, consistently ranked in the top three most creative agencies in the world. He further honed his craft as an Art Director in the biggest and most respected advertising agencies in New Zealand and Australia, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Clemenger BBDO, Lowe, Draft FCB, DDB, and 99. 

During his career Raymond worked on global brand and retail accounts including Air New Zealand, Pacific Blue, Emirates, McDonald’s, TV3, Sky TV, Toyota, The Warehouse, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Frucor, Fonterra, Placemakers, Les Mills and various other international brands. 

Raymond also created the now iconic ‘Wellington Blown Away’ sign. Experienced in a variety of categories and disciplines, Raymond thrives on any creative business challenge. Exposure to all facets of advertising and strategy, has enabled him to effectively navigate the gap between traditional and digital communications.

Apart from working with his own clients Raymond is also working on a few exciting passion projects including a luxury micro-batch spirits company, a business content series aimed at Maori, Pacific and indigenous youth globally and a novelty stress relief app in partnership with the University of Auckland’s Bio-engineering lab. Raymond was also a panelist on industry body Design Assembly’s series on Diversity in the Design and Advertising industry.

Raymond was a recipient of the Campaign Asia Pacific 40Under40, Auckland Business Chamber, Michael Barnett Business leadership Scholarship, TVNZ Marketing Awards Finalist and Westpac Business Awards Best Emerging Business Finalist.
